Get The Look: Top Design Trends We're Loving
Tuesday, February 17, 2015
The article, "10 Top Trends Spotted At High Point Market," picked out the best trends so far this season in home decor and I'd say we're right on trend! Check out some of our favorite ones below along with the items we think you'll love.
1. Earthy Materials. The article cites "stone-carved" sconces and materials such as quartz and crystal, which give the room a rustic and natural look. We're a fan of natural materials and many of our tabletop accessories use horn as seen below. Our beautiful onyx "lava" wall sconce is an elegant take on lighting too with the stone veining illuminated when lit.
2. Woven Items. The trend of using materials like "wicker, rattan and bamboo is back with modern shapes and brightly-lacquered hues." Our unique Guayruro chaguar pillows are made of natural chaguar plant fibers and hand woven together to create beautiful patterns. A more modern looking weave comes in the form of our black or brown leather woven patterned pillows.
3. Thick Textiles. We can't get enough of our textile rugs. Whether they're vintage from Argentina or hand-loomed in Guatemala, they should be a staple in your home and are great for the foot of the bed or spread out on a couch. The colors of these textiles are vibrant and they will last you for years to come.
4. Handmade Accessories. As stated, "intricate, hand-carved designs are also totally on-trend." Most of our tabletop accessories are all hand-carved, which make each of them unique and one-of-a-kind! Take for instance our handcarved horn tabletop items, our rosewood tray, or our carved onyx platter.
5. Metallic Hides. The natural hide look is great and an everyday staple as a floor covering, but if you want to spruce up the room and stand out amongst the crowd, get a dyed metallic hide or a patterned one. Specializing in hides, we have them in any and every style.
There you have it! Take the leap and incorporate one or some of these trends in your home now. What are you waiting for? Try implementing changes in baby steps, maybe starting with one room in the house and then another. You won't regret it!
Cheers,
Frank Campanale
