Food and Drink: Pisco Sour Cocktails
Wednesday, November 12, 2014
My latest favorite cocktail for Thanksgiving is the classic Latin Pisco Sour. Originated in Peru, the drink is made up usually of 3 parts pisco liquor to one part simple syrup and one part lemon or lime juice. What's really interesting and unique about this cocktail is the layer of egg white that's poured on top to create a delicious foam. Serve with or without the eggwhite. Check out the recipe below!
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 1 large (8 ounce) cocktail or 2 small cocktails.
For a twist, I enjoy squeezing fresh orange juice instead of the lime and putting a dash of nutmeg or cinnamon on top instead of the bitters. It makes a great holiday substitute! Make in a blender for larger groups and easy pouring. Happy drinking!
